New Life Fitness Track+ Console Uses Mobile Devices to Enhance Home Workouts

ROSEMONT, IL–(Marketwired – Dec 3, 2013) –  Life Fitness, recognized for providing high quality fitness equipment to health clubs and homes around the world, introduces enhanced functionality for home fitness cardio equipment with the Track+ Console. This new console is compatible with devices using Apple or Android operating systems, allowing users to customize and track their workouts using popular fitness apps.
The Track+ Console is available with Life Fitness home fitness treadmills, cross-trainers and Lifecycle™ exercise bikes, and features a built-in entertainment rack that puts tablets and smartphones at exercisers’ fingertips, allowing the mobile device to become a secondary display option. The entertainment rack serves as an ideal option to easily view mobile apps that can help enhance the workout — from calorie-burn counters that help keep track of weight loss goals to scenic route apps that display a variety of courses to keep the workout exciting.
“Our goal as the technology frontrunner in the fitness equipment industry is to enhance the workout experience by giving exercisers a more customizable, enjoyable experience so they can accomplish their fitness goals,” said Chris Clawson, Life Fitness president. “By incorporating the ability to use personal mobile devices with our machines — both at home and in the gym — we’re putting control into the exercisers’ hand so they can create the workout that will be most successful for them.”
The Track+ Console is one of the Life Fitness LFopen™ Platform products, constructed to evolve with technology as more fitness apps become available. All fitness apps compatible with LFopen™ products can be used with the Track+ Console to enhance workouts, including the Life Fitness LFconnect app, Paofit, Lose It!, Runtastic, SoFit, Kinomap, BullTrainer and Cardio Legend. Device charging is also available when plugged into the console, either through the console’s Android USB port or the iPod/iPhone docking station.
Additional Track+ Console features include:

Personalized workouts – Users of LFconnect, a mobile app and website combination that easily tracks fitness goals and creates tailored workouts, can have instant access to customized workouts created by themselves or their trainer

Integrated iPod/iPhone controls – Allows users to control music volume and playlists sourced through their Apple device

Fit Test – Gauges the user’s fitness level and progress
